The lives of us, humans of the modern generation, are highly dependent on devices like mobile phones. It’s been more than a decade since the mobile phones has been introduced. But, with the advent of the internet, we became more attached to them.
Cellular signals do not reach every corner of a building. It faces many hurdles throughout its journey from the tower to the mobile antenna. Hence, you might not be able to make calls or Google whenever you want.
You must have noticed the strength of the signal received displayed as symbols on your phone. 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and LTE are the common symbols. But what do these symbols mean?
Networks can be divided into types based on the few standards set by the International Telecommunications Union-Radio communications sector (ITU-R). Similarly, 4G is one such classification and it is better than 2G and 3G services. 4G provides relatively faster connectivity and reliability when compared to 2G and 3G. Now, 4G is considered normal and we are waiting eagerly for 5G, the fifth generation of telephone services. The difference between 4G and 5G can be easily felt when used.
Do you recall seeing LTE on the top corner of your phone? What is it?
4G has a technology behind its development and it is called LTE. LTE or Long Term Evolution is a standard developed along with similar standards like UMB and WiMax- both of which are not globally adapted. LTE enables you to experience fast and uninterrupted data and calling services- both in a very secure manner. In fact, it has a separate frequency to ensure that public safety is not compromised. Moreover, important and urgent calls are given preference. For example, a call to an ambulance will go through first.
What Is LTE-A?
LTE- A is also LTE-Advanced or LTE+. It is an upgraded version of LTE providing it the ability to become faster and more stable. LTE+ has higher bandwidth availability when compared to LTE making buffering a thing of the past. The speed of data will be around 2 to 3 times more than in LTE.
No matter how fast 4G services are, it is crowded now. This issue can be solved only with the arrival of 5G. For the time being, you can get a 4G LTE booster.
Do not worry if you are still stuck in the stone age of networks with 2G or 3G. You can improve your network signal by using a cellular signal booster.
